Each summer MathCEP runs a variety of summer programs, often in collaboration with other centers at the University. In 2020, all summer programs were online.

The two-week course aims to encourage the next generation of research scientists by assisting them in hands-on research projects. From the heart of Kansas, the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science (KAMS) at Fort Hays State University (FHSU) equips students to reach higher and seize the future. KAMS is Kansas' premier early college program designed to provide a STEM-focused academic experience for gifted & talented high school juniors & seniors. TAMS differs from other state-supported residential math and science schools in that the academy offers students the opportunity to complete two years of college concurrently with the last two years of high school. The first TAMS class arrived on August 22, 1988.
